Northern Governor Suren Raghavan has said that he is willing to discuss any problems faced by the alleged 'Aava' criminal group.
The Governor added that he was even willing to hold talks without his security personnnel as well. He made these remarks against the backdrop of allegations being levelled against this group for attacking a police officer-in-charge (OIC) in Kokkuvil, Jaffna on June 12.
Issuing a press release Mr. Raghavan had pointed out that this group could engage in discussions in a democratic manner to voice their concerns since people fear anti-communal acts.
The release noted that this would be an ideal opportunity to discuss their problems and explain their motive for the understanding of the people.
