The Colombo High Court issued notice today on Minister Rajitha Senaratna and his son Eksath Senaratna to appear in court on April 02 in connection with the case filed against the alleged abduction of an underage girl. On SUnday a couple had alleged that the minister’s son had abducted their underage daughter while claiming that they neither knew her whereabouts. The girl’s father, Gamini Ranasinghe, at a press conference held in Colombo alleged that his daughter was abducted by Eksath Senaratna, a son of Heath Minister and Cabinet Spokesperson Rajitha Senaratna. Meanwhile Minister Seneratne was quoted by local media as saying the girl in question came willingly. Mr Senaratne refuting allegations that his son had abducted an underage girl, said his son did not take the girl forcibly but she had come willingly. "She had also given a statement to the National Child Protection Authority that she had come willingly because of issues at home," the minister was quoted as saying. The minister also quoted from a statement given by the girl to the Child Protection Authority. Dr. Senaratne also said the girl's father, his ex-wife and his present wife were his patients.
