The leader of the Colombo Branch of the National Thowheed Jamath (NTJ) group Mohamed Fawas has been further remanded until June 4 upon instructions issued by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's court.
The suspect was arrested in Keselwatte in the aftermath of the recent terror attacks over charges of being a member in an extremist Islamic group.
A bail application filed by Fawas was also rejected by court since the case against him has been filed under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
During today's hearing, Keselwatte Police told court that investigations are being carried out into the documents and videos concerning the NTJ group which were found in the possession of the suspect.
Police allege that the suspect had stored videos of the Easter Sunday terror attacks on his mobile phone as well.
