The issuance of On Arrival Visas which had been temporarily suspended in the aftermath of the recent terrorist attacks would be granted to 10 countries in the near future.
Cabinet approval had been granted in this regard after a proposal had been put forward by Tourism Minister John Amaratunga in a bid to boost tourist arrivals to the country.
On Arrival Visas were issued to 13 countries prior to the terrorist attacks on April 21, but had been suspended owing to security concerns which arose after the bombings.
However, tourists from the following countries would be able to obtain On Arrival Visas in the future :
