One individual has been arrested over the killing of two children aged eight and 19 as a result of a longstanding dispute between two neighbours in Wanathavilluwa this morning.
Investigations have shown that the dispute had existed for a long time since wastewater from the suspect's residence had been seeping into the property of the neighbour.
The suspect who is believed to have carried out the killing has been identified as a 28-year old by the name of Ishan Pradeep. The victims are a 19-year old girl and her eight-year-old brother.
Police said the remains of the victim currently lie at the Negombo hospital. Further investigations are currently underway.
