The Examinations Department has decided to introduce a system of conducting open book exams for state sector examinations.
Accordingly, exams pertaining to the Establishments Code, Finance Regulations, Penal Code, Police Department, Prison Department and several other state bodies, will be held according to the open book system.
“This is the first time that Sri Lanka has introduced this system of examination at a higher level” Commissioner General of Examinations Sanath Pujitha said.
He added that workshops have been conducted across several state departments to create awareness regarding this initiative.
This system would be implemented from the second quarter of this year.
