New organization for national development

The Government is to set up an organization for national development with civil-military coordination. The proposal made in this regard by President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as Minister of Defence, was approved by Cabinet yesterday. 

In announcing the move, the Government noted that knowledge and resources of the Tri Forces of Sri Lanka can be easily obtained in nation building, and they are ready to take responsibilities in a nation building mechanism. 

The organization, established with civil-military coordination, will be obtaining the contribution of Tri Forces with their resources, training and strength in national development and peace process.
