Passenger arrested while trying to smuggle Rs 2.32 million

A 46-year-old Sri Lankan national was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) yesterday while trying to smuggle Rs 2.32 million in Sri Lankan Rupees on a flight to Dubai. 

The suspect was released after being imposed a fine of Rs 100, 000. The seized currency was forfeited.
