Megapolis and Western Development Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka has resigned from his position with effect from today (Nov 18).
In a letter to president-elect Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Ranawaka said he had taken this decision in keeping with the people's mandate, after ruling party presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa lost the presidential poll.
He congratulated Rajapaksa on his election as President, and wished him for all activities to be carried out under his government.
Ministers Harin Fernando, Malik Samarawickrama and Mangala Samaraweera, non-cabinet minister Ajith Perera, and state minister Ruwan Wijewardena resigned from their positions yesterday.
