Following a decision taken by the Presidential Task Force on Essential Services, pharmacies will be kept open from 9 a.m to 5 p.m excluding the high risk districts under indefinite curfew and areas that have been placed under lockdown Prime Minister's Office said.
Earlier, the Prime Minister's Office that pharmacies in all districts will remain open, but this has now been revised to exclude the high risk districts and areas under lock-down.
The PM's Office said that customers in high risk districts where curfew prevails can continue to order medicines online or via phone as before.
The government has taken this decision to facilitate access to essential medicine while the curfew is in place throughout the country. Updated instructions from the National Medicines Regulatory Authority, specifying the legal procedures to be followed by the pharmacies accordingly, have also been issued.
