A pipeline carrying crude oil from the Colombo Port to the Muthurajawela Ceylon Petroleum Terminal has burst, local media reported.
According to reports, the pipe had burst close to the Colombo Port. Repairs have already begun.
Steps have also been taken to prevent the further spread of fuel into the ocean while measures are currently underway to remove the oil spill.
