Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa assumed office a short while ago, hours after his swearing in this afternoon.
Gamini Senarath who served as Chief-of-Staff during Mr Rajapaksa's term as President, was appointed as his secretary today (Nov 21).
Rajapaksa was twice elected to office - first in 2005 and then in 2010, before being unseated in 2015.
