Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has rejected remarks made by State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake against the Chief incumbent of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya recently.
Issuing a special statement, the Prime Minister noted that a video circulating on social media containing the State Minister's remarks had been brought to his attention.
Accordingly, he had stated that the video would be submitted to the committee which is currently investigating Ramanayake's controversial remarks on the Maha Sangha.
The State Minister, in a YouTube video, had alleged that young monks were being abused in temples. A three-member committee had been appointed to investigate the matter.
