Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said today that the resignation of Ravi Karunanayake from the post of Foreign Minister signified the new political culture that has emerged as a result of the transparency of the yahapalanaya government.
Speaking soon after Mr. Karunanayake announced his resignation, the Prime Minister said that that this step shows that the government would not interfere with the probe by the Presidential Commission on treasury bonds.
“There is no similar example in the political history. This is an unprecedented instance. The incumbent government has realized its good governance goals,” the Prime Minister said.
