Police arrest 25 university students involved in protest
Police have arrested 25 university students who had engaged in protests near the Lotus Roundabout in Colombo today (Oct 24).
Police fired teargas to disperse the protestors who demanded an increase in the payment of Mahapola bursaries for state university students.
Heavy traffic had been reported near Colombo Fort, Lakehouse Roundabout, and its surrounding areas due to the protest.
