Three suspects were taken into custody from Mundalama along with a stock of Methamphetamines valued at nearly Rs.30 million.
The seized Methamphetamines are a stimulent and recreational drug popularly known as 'Ice.'
Mundalama Police had laid in wait for the suspects after receiving a tip-off that they were transporting the drugs in a van. However, the suspects had managed to evade police. Thereafter, a joint operation had been launched with assistance from the Udappuwa Police, leading to the capture of the suspects and the drugs at Baththaluoya.
About 2 kilograms of 'Ice' were found inside the van. The suspects are residents of Negombo. Mundalama and Udappuwa Police are conducting a joint investigation into the incident.
