The Acting Inspector General of Police has ordered the closure of all supermarkets and pharmacies with immediate effect.
A statement from the Police said that though supper markets were given permission to keep thier markets open and organise home delivery services they were keeping them open and selling goods to the public.
However, supermarket sources said that they were selling goods only to persons working for essential services as they were unable to purchase goods during the usual hours due to the presence of large crowds.
The police statement also said that since the Osusalas were given permission to distribute medicines to homes alll private pharmacies should also close down.
