Police officers shot at a drone which was seen hovering over the Jawatta area in Colombo on Saturday night.
Information regarding the drone has been provided to the Kollupitiya, Bambalapitiya, and Wellawatte Police stations, Narahenpitiya Police said.
According to the Police, the drone was spotted travelling from Bambalapitiya along Marine Drive before flying over the seas.
Investigations have commenced to determine the reason as to why the drone was seen operating over a High Security Zone.
The Civil Aviation Authority had banned all drones and unmanned aircraft following the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.
