Police to enforce speed limit restrictions on 72 roads

News

The Police said in a statement that cases will be filed against motorists violating speed limits on 72 main roads in the country, with effect from today.

Due to the increasing number of accidents due to high speed, the Police, with the support of RDA, have now put sign boards indicating the speed limits on 72 roads.

Previously the Supreme Court had determined in an earlier case that speed limits should be identified on roads before legal action could be taken for speed limit violations.
