Policeman killed in accident

A policeman was killed after his scooter collided head-on with a tipper vehicle at Sangupiddy Bridge along the Jaffna-Mannar Road on June 25. 

The victim has been identified as a 48-year-old officer serving at the Chunnakam Police Station in Jaffna. 

The body of the deceased was taken to the Kilinochchi Hospital. The driver of the tipper has been taken into custody. Poonakari Police are investigating.
