The Postmaster General has instructed that all post offices and sub post offices should remain open for at least two hours on days when curfew is not in effect.
It has also been decided to send vehicles and staff of the postal department to district secretaries in the event they are needed to help distribute essential supplies, and to allow district secretaries to use premises belonging to the postal department if they request them.
Based on instructions issued by the Task Force apppointed to control the spread of COVID-19, the postal department will also undertake the task of delivering medicines issued by hospital clinics to patients in their homes.
