Postal services have returned to normal today after the end of the 48-hour token strike launched by postal trade unions came to an end at midnight yesterday.
Sri Lanka Post is currently working to clear a backlog of some 1.5 million letters and parcels that have piled up at post offices island-wide due to the two-day strike.
However, department officials are confident that they would be able to effectively clear the backlog and deliver everything before Christmas.
