Close to 15 rallies are to be held in and around Colombo for May Day this year.
The United National Party is to conduct its public rally at Campbell Park in Borella.While the Joint Opposition will host a rally at Galle Face Green. The Sri Lanka Freedom Party’s May Day rally is to be held at the Gatambe Stadium in Kandy. The rally of the People’s Liberation Front (JVP) will be held at the BRC Grounds.
Meanwhile, the United Socialist Party will be conducting their rally at Kosgas Junction while the Jathika Hela Urumaya will be celebrating May Day at the Bodhiraja Mawatha.
According to reports, a special remembrance ceremony led by Mrs Hema Premadasa is to be held near the statue of late President R. Premadasa at Keselwatta.
