President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed High Court judge M.R.C. Fernando as a judge of the Court of Appeal.
The appointment letter had been handed over at the Presidential Secretariat today (Oct 18), the President's Office said.
The Constitutional Council had approved the appointment this week, after Mr. Fernando's name had been proposed by the President.
