President Maithripala Sirisena appointed two new Vice-Chancellors for Colombo and Peradeniya Universities yesterday at the Presidential Secretariat.
Prof. Lakshman Dissanayake has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Colombo while Prof. Upul Dissanayake has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya. Secretary to the President P. B. Abeykoon was also present at this occasion.
The Department of National Zoological Gardens is readying enclosures to quarantine two large tortoises that were found stranded 15 kilometers westwards off Pitipana Negombo, today.
