The Prisons and Justice Reforms Ministry has filed a complaint with the Acting inspector general of police (IGP) over the shooting of a jailor in Ambalangoda yesterday (Aug 3).
According to the Ministry, the complaint had been filed to expedite the investigations into the shooting.
Meanwhile, police said that four teams are engaged in a search operation to locate and arrest the suspect with the assistance of CCTV cameras in the area.
The senior jailor attached to the Welikada prisons had succumbed to death while receiving treatment at the Balapitiya hospital last evening.
