Police today informed court that a probe was underway into certain remarks made by former Governor Azath Salley which could damage co-existence.
Former Governor Salley, on May 4 had claimed that certain judges maintained links with the proscribed National Thowheed Jamath (NTJ) group.
A complaint had then been filed in this regard by lawyer Premanad Dolawatte at the Police Organised Crimes Preventive Division (OCPD), police told Colombo Chief Magistrate's court.
Accordingly, Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne had instructed the police to submit a report on the investigations to court in near future.
