Except for certain parts of the country, the island-wide curfew that has been imposed to minimise the spread of COVID-19 will be lifted at 6.00am tomorrow (26).
However, based on advice by health officials, the Ambalantota Pradeshiya Sabha has decided not to hold the "pola" (fair) due to be held in Ambalanthota, Hungama and Barawakumbuka areas tomorrow as well. This had been done with the intention of preventing people from congregating in the town.
In order to minimise inconvenience caused to the people due to this decision, the Pradeshiya Sabha has initiated a mobile service to cover all areas of the PS division to distribute essential food items and vegetables. The program commenced yesterday (24) is being conducted under the supervision of PHIs and Grama Niladharis.
