Students and lecturers at the Jaffna College of Technology campus staged a protest today in front of the college premises condemning last week's attack by unknown persons on students and teachers over an internal clash between students.
On Friday, an outside armed gang entered the college premises with swords and attacked students and teachers following a clash between students. Security guards and students who tried to stop them were also attacked by the gang. College students were able to capture one of the attackers and handed over to police who arrived at the scene later.
Students and teachers urged the College Administration to ensure security and a peaceful environment to carry out academic activities without any threats from outside.
