The returnees from South Korea arrived at the quarantine centres in Batticaloa today to undergo a quarantine period while residents protested over the move.
One hundred and seventy nine persons reached the Kandakadu camp the Batticaloa campus by 4.00 p.m. after an eight hour journey.
A protest was held outside the Batticaloa hospital by residents protesting about opening the two quarantine locations in their district and also protesting about the possibility of using of the Batticaloa hospital if there were positive Coronavirus cases.
