The public have been requested to limit travelling to Trincomalee during the upcoming festive season as possible coronavirus spread is identified in the district, according to Provincial Health authorities.
Trincomalee District COVID19 Prevention Committee headed by Governor Anuradha Yahampath issued directives for the police and health authorities to take adequate steps to limit the passengers into the province from other districts.
It was decided at the meeting to increase the number of checkpoints at the entrance to the district to limit the passengers.
