The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today (Dec 27) informed court that Parliamentarian Rajitha Senaratne has not been arrested so far due to medical reasons.
Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris appearing for the prosecution told the Colombo Magistrate’s Court that a statement has not been recorded from the parliamentarian due to his health condition.
Senaratne, was hospitalised yesterday, in the backdrop of an arrest warrant issued on him by the Colombo Magistrate's Court.
He is facing arrest for organising a media briefing attended by two persons which included an individual claiming to be a "white van" driver during alleged abductions before 2015.
