Health Minister (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne has refuted allegations of a political disucssion that is alleged to have taken place between himself and former national cricket skipper Kumar Sangakkara.
Responding to a query raised by a journalist yesterday, Minister Senaratne said that he had only discussed a health project with Mr. Sangakkara.
He also refuted media reports claiming that the discussion had taken place for two hours.
"That is a blatant lie. The discussion lasted for only 10 minutes" Minister Senaratne retorted.
The Health Minister had also told reporters that discussing politics with Sangakkara was pointless since he is a good cricketer.
"Politics must be discussed with those involved in politics" the Health Minister said.
