The motion filed by parliamentarian Rajitha Senaratne's lawyers seeking to recall his arrest warrant was withdrawn from the Colombo Magistrate's Court.
Senaratne is facing arrest for organising a media briefing attended by two persons who were allegedly involved in being a "white van" driver during an alleged abductions before 2015.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID), upon the instructions of the Attorney General, obtained an arrest warrant from the Colombo Magistrate’s Court this week.
The parliamentarian's lawyers had then filed a motion today claiming that the warrant had been obtained in an unlawful manner. However, the motion was withdrawn hours later.
