State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake has undergone a blood test at a private hospital in Colombo to prove that he is not under the influence of narcotics.
Mr. Ramanayake told reporters that this test would determine whether a person had consumed any one of 11 narcotics including cocaine three months prior to the test.
Meanwhile, State Minister Ramanayake also produced a statement before a committee that was appointed to probe his statements concerning the alleged use of cocaine by parliamentarians and ministers.
The committee led by Minster Lakshman Kiriella was appointed by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
State Minister Eran Wickremaratne, MP Ashu Marasinghe, and Justice Nissanka Nanayakkara were the other members in the committee.
The report compiled by this committee is to be submitted to the Prime Minister on February 25.
