Rathupaswala shooting: CID arrests Brigadier
Brigadier Anura Deshapriya Gunawardena, who was accused of ordering troops to open fire on protesters in Rathupaswala on August 1, 2013, has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Several army personnel were also arrested earlier over the incident.
Three persons were killed and several others injured after soldiers opened fire on demonstrators during the Rathupaswala protest.
