Former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake has sought a court order to prevent his arrest over the bond scam on the grounds that he was preparing to contest upcoming Parliamentary elections
The former Minister has filed a Writ petition in the Court of Appeal seeking the order.
Among other reasons he has filed at about his plans to play a key role in preparing for elections for the UNP and that the Central Bank was not under his purview when the alleged transactions took place.
The Bench comprising Justices A.H.M.D.Nawaz , President Court of Appeal and Arjuna Obeysekere decided that petition can be supported tomorrow.
