Minister Ravi Karunanayake has said that officers attached to his Ministerial Security Division will be deployed for security in the vicinity of schools which are set to re-open tomorrow (May 06).
He pointed out that security will be tightened in the vicinity of schools which have been facing a delay in re-opening schools for the second term owing to the recent terror attacks in the country.
The Power and Energy Minister insisted that the premises of all schools must be searched by security personnel prior to the commencement of school sessions as part of the heightened security measures.
While commending the security personnel who have been engaging in duties around the clock, the Minister added that he would direct his security officers to be a part of the ongoing security operations as well.
