Russian Ambassador Yury B. Materiy has said that Russia will offer 50 scholarships for Sri Lankan students who pass the G C E Advanced Level examination next year.
Materiy, joined by a team of Russian diplomats, had made these remarks during a meeting with Speaker Karu Jayasuriya recently, the Parliament's Department of Communication said.
The Ambassador had also thanked the Sri Lanka government and the Parliament for its continuous support towards Russia.
Aleksei Budanov, Deputy Head of Mission and Anastasia V. Khokhlova, First Secretary for the Russian Federation in Sri Lanka & the Director of the Russian Cultural Centre were also present during the meeting.
