Russian Training Navy Ship ‘Perekop’ has left Sri Lankan shores after a three-day visit which saw friendly games involving naval personnel of both countries.
Perekop, aboard a 399-member crew, arrived at the Hambantota Port this Tuesday before departing the island nation yesterday (Nov 21), Sri Lanka Navy said in a press release.
Sri Lankan and Russian Navy personnel engaged in games such as volleyball and tug-of-war during the visit.
Southern Naval Commander Rear Admiral Kassapa Paul joined by other senior officers was among the key dignitaries who had visited the ship.
Perekop is 138 m long and 17 m wide, and has a displacement of 6900 tons.
