The second suspect involved in the shooting of the paramour of underworld criminal 'Kanjipani Imran' was arrested in Jampettah Street last night.
The suspect identfied as A.G. Mohamed Rizwan was taken into custody by personnel attached to the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) over his alleged involvement in the shooting of the woman who was identified as 'Kudu Chuti' at a residence in Melwatte earlier this month.
A hand grenade and one milligram of heroin which were in the possession of the suspect were also seized by CCD personnel.
Meanwhile, police also arrested a 21-year old by the name of M.N. Mohamed Ali for his involvement in the shooting incident as well.
The suspect who is a resident of Salamulla, Kolannawa was arrested by Special Task Force (STF) personnel last night while he was in the possession of 10 grams of heroin, Rs 34,000 cash and a mobile phone.
Investigations have revealed that he is an accomplice of 'Kanjipani Imran' who was arrested in Dubai along with druglord Makandure Madush.
