Senior FLSP members arrested over attack

Propaganda Secretary of the Frontline Socialist Party (FLSP) Pubudu Jayagoda and Politburo member Sujith Kuruvita have been arrested by police over their alleged role regarding the attack on the Department of Immigration and Emigration in April. 

The incident, which took place on April 1, occurred when FLSP members held a protest opposite the department's head office demanding that FLSP Central Committee member Kumar Gunaratnam be given Sri Lankan citizenship. 

The protest escalated into a clash after some members broke through the police cordon and entered the department building, causing damage to its property.
