At least seven fishermen who engaged in illegal harvesting of sea cucumbers in the seas off Nachchikuda were arrested by the navy yesterday. A Fiber Glass Dinghy and 80 kg of sea cucumbers were also seized.
The arrested persons and belongings were produced to the officials of the Assistant Directorate of Fisheries, Kilinochchi for onward investigations and action.
