At least 70 persons have been arrested so far for failure to wear face masks and maintain social distancing, Police said.
Accordingly, they will be charged under the latest regulations gazetted under which a six-month jail term or Rs 10,000 fine can be imposed.
Deputy inspector General Ajith Rohana said that initially two weeks were given to create awareness about the new regulations and now they have started implementing the regulations.
