SLAF Helicopter damaged in training mishap

A Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Bell 206 helicopter sustained damage when it was taking off for a training flight at the Hingurakgoda Air Force Base this morning. 

SLAF Spokesman Group Captain Chandima Alwis said the helicopter was being piloted by an officer cadet who was on a solo flight when the incident occurred. 

However, the pilot has escaped without any injuries, he further said.
