An SLPP member of the Karandeniya Pradeshiya Sabha attended the last session of the PS wearing a 'necklace' made from CDs and a board titled 'Handapata Eliyata - Salupata Ahasata' to protest against the scandal created by voice recordings of phone conversations between UNP MP Ranjan Ramanayake and various other individuals.
SLPP member Kapila Kumara's decision to attend the session in this way caused a minor sensation initially but proceedings continued as normal after the initial shock. Mr Kumara remained attired in his necklace and wearing the board around his neck throughout.
