The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB)'s workers union has decided to launch a strike from midnight over an issue pertaining to the service promotions of SLTB employees.
The strike will be launched to protest against the decision to cancel the transfers of 5100 SLTB employees, a Union Spokesman said.
Meanwhile, the protest held opposite the United National Party (UNP) headquarters in Sirikotha to the same effect had been called off after a decision to engage in a strike was made.
