The case filed against Ceylon Thowheed Jamath (CTJ) Secretary, Abdul Razick for allegedly making defamatory statements against BBS general secretary Galagoda Aththe Gnanasarathe and the Buddhist community was taken up for hearing before court today (May 09).
The CTJ Secretary has been charged with making defamatory statements against the Buddhist community at large and Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero in 2016.
The Colombo Crimes Division today told court that the Attorney General's advice has not been sought in the case so far.
Accordingly, Additional Magistrate Kanchana de Silva instructed the CCD to put forward a report on the Attorney General's advice concerning the case when it is called up next on July 25.
