The Special High Court has released elephant racketeer 'Ali Roshan' and six others who were arrested over charges of elephant racketeering.
The suspects were released after the Special High Court declared that it did not have the jurisdiction to hear the case.
Samarappulige Niraj Roshan alias 'Ali Roshan' and six others were charged under 24 counts by the Attorney General under the Flora and Fauna act and the public property act.
The suspects are alleged to have possessed four elephants without a valid license.
