A special traffic plan has been set in place around the Ramakrishna and Vivekananda roads in Wellawatte, in view of rehearsals being held ahead of Independence Day, local media reported. Police Media Spokesperson quoted by local media said the special traffic plan was in effect from 6am – 11am this morning. Police said that the flow of traffic will be one way on these roads from 3 p.m. to 7p.m. on Tuesday. According to the traffic plan, traffic flow on Ramakrishna Road will be one way from Galle Road to the Colombo Plan Road or Marine Drive. Traffic flow on Vivekananda Road will be one way from Marine Drive to Galle Road. Meanwhile, vehicular movement along roads close to the parliament will be restricted from 8:30 a.m to noon Tuesday, due to rehearsals ahead of Independence Day. The traffic plan is said to remain in effect until Independence Day.
